Matured in an oak butt, the cask yielded 160 bottles and gives the whisky a fuller, more structured style than a lighter bourbon-led maturation. That cask style suits Tamdhu particularly well. The extended maturation brings extra depth and polish, while the spirit still carries the distillery’s hallmark richness, with notes of dried fruit, toffee, chocolate and warming spice sitting comfortably alongside seasoned oak.
