Fresh dry hop, herbal character is provided by the mix of Challenger and First Gold hops. The use of crystal malt in the grist gives a satisfying toffee/caramel note and the addition of a little black malt adds just enough astringency to give a clean dry finish.
Greene King IPA bottled beer was first brewed in 1928 when the Indian Pale Ales were first fashionable. However, our beer was never intended to be shipped over to India but to be enjoyed locally.
Greene King IPA is our flagship beer, born and brewed in our hometown, Bury St Edmunds. We’ve been crafting quality ales at the Westgate Brewery, Bury St Edmunds, since 1799. The roots set down by Benjamin Greene and Frederick King are embedded in the way we make our beer today. Our dedication to brewing hasn’t changed and we still apply the same passion and craftsmanship to every single drop of Greene King IPA.
